Organiser of the planned Butterscotch concert slated for Lagos on Saturday finally learned the hard way the bad image that the Boko Haram sect has brought the country when the two headliners of the concert pulled out blaming it on insecurity.
Donnel Jones and Envogue, an all female group, among others
, were among the list of foreigners expected to come to Nigeria for the concert.
After expending over N20million on the project, the event was cancelled, a reliable source told R around 3 p.m on Friday.
The source, who does not want to be revealed, said there was nothing expected to be done that had not been done by the organisers, but the ghost of Chibok Girls that were kidnapped, which enraged the whole world, must have informed the decision of the Americans to stay away from Nigeria for now.
“The menace appears to be affecting all lives now. Gradually, our collective psyche has been messed up by Boko Haram and nobody is able to do anything about it. Everything is being politicised.
The oyinbos said they are not coming for the concert again. How can one host a decent international show with all this s**t?, he queried.
