When you win an Oscar and everyone loves you, the doors start to open up.
Cue Lupita Nyong’o pulling a boss move and casually optioning some film rights.
She hopes to bring author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book Americanah to a movie theater near you at some point.
Adichie, also a boss, is not new to this game. Her novel, Half of a Yellow Sun, is already a movie, starring Thandie Newton and Nyong’o’s 12 Years a Slave co
-star Chiwetel Ejiofor.
And, oh yeah, it’s Adichie’s voice you hear in the middle of BeyoncĂ©’s song Flawless. Yeah, really. And, it’s taken from her insanely smart TED talk on feminism.
Yep, they woke up like dis. #bossmoves
